Paul Chamberlain

Paul graduated from the Huddersfield Polytechnic School of Music in 1979 and a career in secondary education followed. His compositions for children include three opera’s, five Cantatas, Christmas carols and numerous other pieces to suit different occasions. As a bass guitarist he has played throughout the country in function bands, big bands and orchestras. Pit work includes Les Miserables, Chess, West Side Story, Sound of Music, Hairspray, Grease, Footloose, Our House and many more.
2016 saw the composition of the “Songs from the Requiem” for the Elysian Singers of Wetherby. In 2018 he wrote and produced the album “Can You write Me a Song” for the singer Michaela Smith.
Paul started taking photos for D&L during the Readathon in 2014. He has continued to take them during the production process for archive purposes and media release.
Neighbourhood Watch was his first Ayckbourn play as resident composer for D&L in 2016. Paul’s original music for D&L’s productions has also been used by other theatre companies including Farnworth Little Theatre, the Apollo Players (Isle of Wight), the Roadwater Players (Somerset) and WPI Masque Theatre (Worcester, Massachusetts).
