John Cotgrave

Artistic Director

Since graduating from Bretton Hall in 1995, John has worked steadily in the performing arts industry. In 2001 he joined the production team at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, working on several Ayckbourn premieres notably the Damsels in Distress trilogy.

John was introduced to the work of Ayckbourn by his sixth form teacher in 1988 and his work has been a labour of love ever since. In 2004 he established Dick & Lottie with the sole purpose of staging the work of Ayckbourn. He also works with the RSC and the teaching and performing of Shakespeare, but Ayckbourn is always his first love.

John’s favourite Ayckbourn play is “Absent Friends”
